Robin Graham visited South Africa in December 2008. This marks the formal introduction of the Peace Dream Foundation’s grass roots program Play Football Make Peace to the country, where preparations are well underway for the World Cup 2010. Cape Town will be one of the host cities. A new stadium is being built in Green Point.

The visit was an opportunity to investigate future projects and partnerships. It was also a chance to introduce the work of Peace Dream Foundation and the grass roots work of Play Football Make Peace to sports NGOs working in Cape Town and the Western Cape province.

In the workshop, in which ten different NGOs participated, Robin Graham shared the principles and values of the Way of Champions and the participants added their own perspectives. Everyone had very concrete experience in serving youth in a variety of sports throughout the Western Cape. A common theme was the value of exploring peace through sports as well as social development.

The following day, Play Football Make Peace sponsored a 7-a-side tournament.
