On November 26, 2007 PFMP Coordinators from Canada, Jordan and Estonia met with the Secretary-General of the World Association of NGOs, Taj Hamad and PFMP Director Robin Graham.

PFMP is launching its peace and development education program in 2008.  This initiative is to support youth footballers throughout the world with the PFMP principles, values and coaching model.

PFMP is promoting football as it should be played, a game in which the physical skills are complemented by the qualities of sportsmanship and fair play.

PFMP will partner with international sports associations, local and national governments, university sports departments, and NGOs to speedily implement this initiative. The PFMP program works as a catalyst at the grass roots level, in the youth football clubs and on the football pitch. It reflects many of the policy aims of the UN and international organizations which have identified sports as a key vehicle to foster peace and development. PFMP targets the youth football players throughout the world who love to play the beautiful game. With good coaching role models and applied sports ethics then PFMP sees a youth football culture emerging, which can model sportsmanship on the football pitch and then carry those values through to the community and society PFMP will host further meetings with youth and other PFMP stakeholders to further refine the principles and values. PFMP has worked in 33 countries and is getting feedback from all of the PFMP stakeholders.
